Management Consulting for Ljubljana Tourism
After the completion of the strategy for the development of tourism in Ljubljana and the Ljubljana region, Horwath HTL was selected to provide consulting services on the project with the main goal of improving the competitiveness and capacity of the Tourist Board of the City of Ljubljana
Project scope
The project assignment contained a professional assessment of the capacities of all employees in the organization through personal interviews and written exams. The written exam tested general skills, alphanumeric and logic abilities, and included a case study. Depending on the department, employees were also assessed on specific areas such as marketing, product development or MICE. The Horwath HTL team evaluated each employee and gained a thorough understanding of the operational and functional components of the Ljubljana Tourist Board, which also included a deep understanding of the Ljubljana Convention Bureau and its speciality. Finally, Horwath HTL proposed an optimal organizational structure that aligned with the development aspirations outlined in the strategy. This included the allocation of employees, defining positions to be filled and addressing questions regarding the suitability of certain personnel. The team also defined the main roles and key responsibilities of the employees, including those within the convention bureau. The project was very interactive and field-intensive (more than 60 interviews), all with the aim of defining the optimal system that will manage the development of Ljubljana tourism with quality.
