Implementing an ESG plan in the Hotel Sector
Sustainability is not new but the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing conflicts makes it hard to escape the implications of climate change and diversity & inclusion on our everyday lives.

Asylum Accommodation Contracts: The Next Chapter
The UK is obliged to provide accommodation and related services to asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute. The Home Office awarded Asylum Accommodation and Support Contracts (AASC) in January 2019 which commenced in September 2019 (replacing the prior COMPASS contracts) to three companies with specific regional coverage as follows: • Serco for the Midlands the East of England and the North West. • Mears Group for the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside, Scotland and Northern Ireland. • Clearsprings Ready Homes for the South and Wales. These providers in turn make contracts with hotels, but remain responsible for related services, property maintenance plans and inspections.

Hospitality is at the heart of real estate repositioning across the UK
Repurposing and repositioning properties into hotels and alternative uses in towns and cities across the UK is an innovative strategy for investors. However, due diligence and careful planning are essential to mitigate risks and optimize returns.

Bristol Hotel Market, Sept 2022
Bristol, the most populous city in southwest England, continues to attract both business and leisure travellers due to its vibrant creative media, electronics, and aerospace sectors. The city’s redeveloped centre and historical docks offer a rich cultural experience with numerous venues for performances, conferences, and events. Known for its culinary scene, Bristol was named the best culinary destination in the world in the 2019 Food Trekking Awards and was the European Green Capital in 2015.

Challenges Ahead for Corporate Housing and Extended Stay
As the hospitality industry emerges from the shadow of COVID-19, it faces a transformed landscape with both opportunities and challenges for the corporate housing and extended stay sectors. While these segments have generally outperformed traditional hotels in occupancy during the pandemic, several underlying issues may impact their future viability.

Future-proofing UK Hotels
As the UK navigates the post-COVID-19 era and the implications of Brexit, the hotel industry faces significant changes to maintain relevance and profitability.
