Tourism Promotion Planning for Waterford County Council
Horwath HTL Ireland were commissioned to provide a tourism analysis and promotional plan for Waterford City and County Council.
Project Scope
Horwath HTL Ireland collaborated with Waterford City and County Council to develop a comprehensive tourism analysis and promotional plan, aimed at enhancing the region’s visibility and appeal as a destination. This strategic initiative addressed current market dynamics while identifying opportunities to position Waterford as a key player in Ireland’s tourism landscape.
The project began with an in-depth market analysis, examining tourism trends, competitive positioning, and alignment with Ireland’s national tourism brand. A detailed review of existing and potential tourism products provided valuable insights into how the county’s unique assets could be optimised for future growth.
Central to the project was an extensive stakeholder engagement process designed to ensure that the plan reflected the needs and aspirations of local stakeholders. This phase involved surveys, workshops, interviews, and focus groups, gathering diverse perspectives from tourism operators, community representatives, and other key stakeholders. Their input was instrumental in shaping a plan that was both ambitious and grounded in local realities.
The final promotional plan provided actionable recommendations, including targeted marketing strategies, product development priorities, and brand enhancement initiatives. Specific focus was placed on leveraging Waterford’s heritage, coastal assets, and cultural offerings to attract a broader and more diverse visitor base.
Through this collaborative and data-driven approach, the tourism plan offers Waterford City and County Council a clear pathway to boost its tourism economy. The project underscores our expertise in delivering tailored strategies that foster sustainable tourism development and maximise regional potential.
