Performance Improvement Review & Plan Implementation

We were appointed by the hotel owner to review the operation of all hotels in the portfolio and prepare a Profit Improvement Plan.

Project Scope

Horwath HTL was engaged by the owner of a multi-hotel portfolio to conduct a comprehensive review of operations across all properties and to develop a detailed Profit Improvement Plan. The objective was to identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, optimise revenue, and improve overall profitability.

The engagement began with an in-depth operational review of each hotel in the portfolio. This involved analysing key performance metrics such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and gross operating profit (GOP). Detailed departmental assessments were conducted to identify inefficiencies in key areas such as front office, housekeeping, food and beverage operations, and back-of-house processes.

Revenue management practices were critically evaluated, including pricing strategies, distribution channels, and sales initiatives, to ensure alignment with market demand and competitive positioning. Cost structures were also scrutinised, with a focus on identifying opportunities to reduce operating expenses without compromising guest satisfaction or service quality.

Based on these findings, a tailored Profit Improvement Plan was developed for the portfolio. The plan included actionable recommendations for revenue enhancement, operational cost optimisation, and staff training to improve service delivery and productivity. Specific initiatives were outlined for each property, taking into account their unique market positioning and operational challenges.

To ensure effective implementation, Horwath HTL provided ongoing support, including collaboration with the hotel management teams to execute the plan and track progress. Performance benchmarks were established to measure the impact of the initiatives and make necessary adjustments.

This engagement resulted in measurable improvements in profitability and operational efficiency across the portfolio. By delivering a customised improvement strategy and supporting its implementation, Horwath HTL helped the client achieve sustainable performance gains and enhanced competitiveness in the market.
