Hospitality Concept Development
Horwath HTL was engaged to support the transformation of an ambitious concept and vision into a commercially viable hospitality brand. Through structured analysis, strategic definition, and financial modelling, Horwath HTL helped shape that vision into a credible, investable proposition. The first property, planned for Zanzibar, is intended to serve as the brand’s flagship, with a long-term goal of developing ten properties globally over the next decade.
The Opportunity
Cabin Anthology’s founder envisioned a new category of resort: one that blends luxury, wellness and digital connectivity for a new generation of remote-working travellers. The concept was rooted in the belief that affluent professionals and entrepreneurs are seeking more than just a place to stay; they want community, creativity and purpose. However, turning this vision into a business case that could attract capital and development partners required a rigorous and structured approach.
Our Approach
Horwath HTL worked closely with Cabin Anthology’s leadership to define the brand’s core proposition and assess its market potential. The first phase of work included a global review of travel trends, competitor benchmarking and analysis of the luxury resort and branded residential pipeline. We developed a detailed product specification, including guest unit sizing, amenities, programming and branded residential components. A SWOT analysis was conducted to position the brand against both emerging and established players.
The second workstream focused on the feasibility of the first resort in Zanzibar. This included a market snapshot of the national and regional tourism landscape, airlift and infrastructure analysis and a forecast of future hotel supply and demand. We developed a five-year synthetic profit and loss model, incorporating all key KPI assumptions. This financial model was designed to support investor discussions and inform site selection and design.
The Outcome
The engagement successfully bridged the gap between aspiration and execution. Cabin Anthology now has a clearly articulated brand concept, a robust financial case for its first resort and a compelling narrative for investors and partners. What began as a conceptual idea has become a structured, data-backed development strategy. The project has helped secure early investor interest and laid the groundwork for capital raising, site acquisition and future growth.
