Operational Support

Eco Lodge Management Support

Horwath HTL was engaged to provide comprehensive operational and strategic support for an eco-focused lodge in the South Island of New Zealand.

The project encompassed a wide-ranging review and enhancement of the property’s business planning, operational efficiency, product development, revenue management, and guest experience delivery.

Project Scope

Our engagement began with the development of a multi-year business plan, setting clear financial and operational targets to guide the lodge towards sustainable profitability.

We conducted a detailed assessment of existing operations, focusing on optimising revenue streams, reducing expenses, and introducing new product offerings, such as bespoke guest experiences, private dining, and special events.

The project also involved strengthening the lodge’s market readiness for potential third-party management or continued self-operation.

We worked closely with the client to expand and diversify revenue channels, including targeted engagement with premium inbound wholesalers and travel agents.

Operational improvements were implemented through integrated staffing models, enhanced IT systems, and rigorous staff training to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality guest experiences.

Our team also supported the evolution of the lodge’s brand strategy, sales and marketing initiatives, and guest database management.

Outcomes & Benefits to the Client

The project delivered a clear roadmap for operational and financial improvement, equipping the client with actionable strategies to drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Our recommendations enabled the lodge to strengthen its market positioning, enhance profitability, and lay the groundwork for future expansion and innovation.

The outcomes included improved staff performance, streamlined processes, and a robust platform for ongoing success in the competitive market.
