US Lodging Market Update: Oct 2020
By Paul Breslin CHA, CHE, ISHC on February 23, 2021
In the October edition of the Lodging Market Overview by Horwath HTL Atlanta, signs of gradual increases in weekly room night demand and weekly room nights available show that the lodging market is on a cautious trajectory to 2019 levels.
The upper priced lodging segments continue to see the worst of the declines in performance as travellers seek out discounts.
Continued growth in Total Traveler Throughput (TTT) for October and the part of November show that although most travellers choose to drive to domestic destinations, more and more are choosing to fly.
Overall, we are cautiously optimistic about a steady recovery in the hospitality sector.
