Market Opportunity Assessment

Horwath HTL was engaged to provide strategic advice regarding a proposed urban resort development in Auckland.

The engagement aimed to evaluate the market opportunity for the concept, ensuring its alignment with the competitive landscape and future demand trends.

Drawing on our expertise in hotel planning and development, we delivered insights to support the client’s vision while maximising the potential return on investment.

Project Scope

The engagement involved a high-level assessment of the market opportunity for the proposed hotel concept at the specified location.

This included analysing Auckland’s competitive hotel market over the next 10 years to determine optimal positioning, configuration, scale, and ancillary facilities such as food and beverage outlets and leisure amenities.

Additionally, a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of the concept.

Preliminary commentary was also provided on the proposed participatory lease structure.

Outcomes & Benefits to the Client

The assessment delivered valuable insights into the feasibility and positioning of the proposed hotel concept within Auckland’s hospitality landscape.

By identifying opportunities to optimise design and ancillary offerings,Horwath HTL equipped the client with strategic recommendations that enhanced the project’s viability and competitiveness.

These findings provided a solid foundation for informed decision-making regarding future steps in the development process.
