Mixed Use Conceptualization at Santo Antônio Convent
Conceptualization of a Hotel, Residential, and Wellness Project at the Santo Antônio de Paraguaçu Convent.
The Santo Antônio Convent, a historically significant site, required a carefully considered mixed-use conceptualisation to enhance its long-term viability while preserving its cultural and architectural integrity. Our consultants were engaged to assess the potential for adaptive reuse, ensuring a sustainable and commercially viable approach that remained respectful of the convent’s heritage.
The project commenced with a detailed site analysis, evaluating the existing spatial layout, structural conditions, and heritage constraints. A market study was conducted to identify suitable commercial, hospitality, and cultural uses that could be integrated without compromising the convent’s historical character. This included an assessment of visitor demand, competitive positioning, and potential revenue streams.
Collaboration with architects and conservation specialists was central to our approach, allowing for the development of strategies that balanced modern functionality with preservation requirements. Our team created financial and operational models to test different development scenarios, considering the implications of various tenant mixes, event programming, and public access strategies.
The resulting concept recommendations outlined a framework for a sensitive yet commercially viable transformation. These included proposals for boutique hospitality elements, cultural and educational programming, and selective retail offerings tailored to enhance the visitor experience. By aligning commercial objectives with heritage conservation principles, our work provided a strategic roadmap for the site’s future, ensuring a sustainable and engaging mixed-use destination.
