Lisbon Hospitality Investment Strategy

Horwath HTL Portugal were engaged as strategic consultants and project leaders to assist several institutional investors in the acquisition of a portfolio of 16 assets in Lisbon, spanning a total of 150,000 sqm.

Our role encompassed providing strategic advice and overseeing the project to ensure a successful outcome.


Project Scope

The project began with a thorough assessment of the portfolio, focusing on defining tailored hotel concepts and products for each asset. This process was driven by a deep understanding of market trends and the specific needs of the Lisbon hospitality sector. We carried out detailed market and financial feasibility studies for each of the assets, evaluating their potential for profitability and long-term value.

To facilitate smooth operations post-acquisition, we developed a comprehensive partnership and operator framework, ensuring that the right partners and operators were identified for each property. This included negotiations and establishing agreements that aligned with the client’s strategic goals.

Additionally, we provided guidance on the administrative and urban development model, crucial for the largest hotel rehabilitation program in Lisbon. This involved navigating local regulations and urban planning requirements to streamline the redevelopment process.

Through our strategic guidance and leadership, the client was able to make informed decisions, positioning their investment for sustainable growth and success in the Lisbon market.
