Project Scope

We were appointed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support a Tourism Recovery and Investment Project aimed at revitalising the sector following significant disruptions. The initiative required a combination of strategic analysis, stakeholder engagement, and actionable recommendations to facilitate sustainable recovery and future growth.

Our role began with a comprehensive assessment of the tourism sector’s current state, focusing on the impacts of recent challenges on market performance, investment flows, and employment. This involved analysing data from key tourism markets, identifying trends in visitor behaviour, and understanding the economic ripple effects on related industries.

We collaborated closely with IFC stakeholders to identify priority areas for intervention. This included evaluating the potential for private sector investment in tourism infrastructure, accommodation, and services. Through detailed market research and benchmarking, we highlighted opportunities for targeted investments that could drive recovery while fostering long-term sustainability.

Stakeholder engagement was central to the project, and we facilitated discussions with public and private sector representatives, industry associations, and local communities. This ensured the development of strategies that were inclusive, practical, and aligned with the needs of all stakeholders.

The final deliverable was a comprehensive report outlining recovery strategies and investment priorities. We provided tailored recommendations for diversifying tourism offerings, enhancing competitiveness, and adopting sustainable practices to future-proof the sector.

Our work equipped the IFC with a clear roadmap for driving recovery and leveraging investment to revitalise tourism economies. By addressing both immediate challenges and future opportunities, the project served as a catalyst for sustainable growth and resilience within the tourism industry.
