Development of Velipoje Touristic Village

Project Scope
Our consultancy was engaged to support the development of the Velipojë Touristic Village, a project aimed at transforming this coastal area into a premier tourist destination. The initiative sought to leverage Velipojë’s unique landscapes, including its pristine beach, river delta, lagoons, and forests, to create a balanced blend of natural beauty and modern amenities.
The project began with a feasibility study to evaluate its viability. This involved analysing the region’s infrastructure, environmental factors, and market demand. We conducted consultations with stakeholders, including local authorities and community representatives, to ensure the development aligned with sustainable tourism practices and regional aspirations.
Following the feasibility assessment, we collaborated with urban planners and architects to design a master plan that integrated eco-friendly accommodations, recreational facilities, and cultural attractions. Emphasis was placed on preserving the area’s natural ecosystems, recognising their importance for biodiversity and the local economy.
Improving accessibility was a key focus, with infrastructure enhancements such as the development of better road connections to significantly reduce travel times and improve connectivity. This was essential for positioning the village as a convenient and attractive destination for tourists.
In addition, we developed marketing strategies to promote Velipojë as a unique destination, showcasing its unspoiled landscapes and cultural heritage. Partnerships with local businesses were encouraged to ensure economic benefits extended throughout the community.
Throughout the project, sustainable development principles guided our approach, balancing growth with environmental preservation and community well-being. This comprehensive strategy ensured that the Velipojë Touristic Village was not only an economically viable endeavour but also a socially and environmentally responsible development, setting a benchmark for tourism projects in the region.
