Joris Blommaert

Joris' career started in operations, going through various departments, and grew into an internationally oriented profile. He gained broad experience in almost all departments of the hotel industry, both in the Netherlands and in Belgium, France, Germany and Hong Kong. This background enables him to approach issues from multiple perspectives — operational, tactical and strategic — both at cluster level, head office level and in an external advisory role.

Joris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Hotel Management and completed a Master in Business Administration in International Hospitality Management. During his master thesis he focused on, among other things, the revision of the Compensation & Benefits policy for Marriott International in Western Europe, with which he applied his academic knowledge to strategic HR challenges within an international group. 

During his career, he developed into a professional with a natural T-profile: generalist in approach, but with strong analytical depth. It is precisely this combination that enables him to understand and solve complex issues, and makes him widely deployable within various project types and organizational levels.
