Digital Transformation Strategy for Slovenia
Our team successfully led a transformative project to define and enhance the digital transformation of the Slovenian tourism sector, encompassing both public and private stakeholders.
Project Scope
Our team successfully led a transformative project to define and enhance the digital transformation of the Slovenian tourism sector, encompassing both public and private stakeholders. This initiative was designed to position Slovenia as a leader in innovative and data-driven tourism management, ensuring sustainable growth and improved competitiveness on a global scale.
The project’s first phase focused on establishing a clear framework for digital transformation. This included identifying existing challenges, opportunities, and priorities for integrating advanced digital tools into the tourism ecosystem. A digital maturity assessment of Slovenia’s tourism sector was conducted to evaluate the current capabilities and readiness of key stakeholders. This assessment provided invaluable insights into the sector’s strengths and areas requiring intervention.
Subsequent phases of the project centred on crafting a comprehensive digital strategy, proposing critical intervention areas to drive the transformation. Among the key recommendations was the development of a national-level business intelligence system to consolidate and analyse data for more informed decision-making. Another significant proposal was the creation of a real-time tourism statistical system to enable dynamic tracking of visitor flows, preferences, and economic impact.
The strategy also prioritised the establishment of a national tourism marketplace, a digital platform to connect service providers, enhance visibility, and streamline bookings. Additional proposed solutions included tailored digital tools to support small and medium-sized enterprises, improve destination management, and foster collaboration across the sector.
By addressing the needs of both public and private stakeholders, the project’s outcomes provide a clear roadmap for Slovenia’s tourism sector to embrace innovation and digitalisation. These efforts are set to enhance the visitor experience, optimise resource allocation, and support sustainable tourism development, ensuring Slovenia remains a competitive and forward-thinking destination in the global market.
