This was for a management company of 4 hotels in Barcelona., we facilitated a share deal between and Italian group seller based in Barcelona and the buyer, a Franco-Belgian fund together with a Spanish hotel chain with more than 50 hotel assets.

Horwath HTL provided advisory services and conducted an investor search for the sale of a management company operating four hotels in Barcelona. The transaction was structured as a share deal, facilitating the transfer of ownership from the Italian-based seller group in Barcelona to a Franco-Belgian investment fund, with the participation of a Spanish hotel chain that manages more than 50 hotel assets.
The process began with a detailed assessment of the management company and its portfolio of hotels, focusing on operational performance, market positioning, and growth potential. This analysis formed the basis for crafting a compelling value proposition to attract potential investors. Horwath HTL identified key selling points, such as the strategic location of the assets in Barcelona, strong market demand, and operational efficiencies.
The investor search was conducted internationally, targeting funds and operators with a proven interest in high-performing urban hotel portfolios. The Franco-Belgian fund, in collaboration with the Spanish hotel chain, emerged as the ideal buyer due to its ability to leverage synergies and implement a strategic growth plan for the portfolio.
Horwath HTL facilitated negotiations between the parties, ensuring the transaction terms aligned with the objectives of both the seller and the buyer. This included structuring the share deal to maximise value for the seller while securing a seamless transition of ownership and management responsibilities.
The outcome of the transaction provided the Italian seller group with a successful exit strategy and enabled the Franco-Belgian fund and its Spanish partner to expand their presence in one of Europe’s most dynamic hospitality markets. By delivering strategic advice and conducting a targeted investor search, Horwath HTL ensured the successful completion of the deal, creating value for all stakeholders involved.
