Horwath HTL Co-Organised and led sessions at inaugural Indonesia Tourism Xchange 2026
Singapore / Jakarta, 12 May 2026 — Horwath HTL took a central role at the inaugural Indonesia Tourism Xchange (ITX 2026) held today at The Langham, Jakarta, with Managing Director Matt Gebbie co-organising the forum and Director Shyn Yee Ho-Strangas moderating the hospitality technology session.
ITX 2026 was a new national industry platform bringing together hotel owners, operators, investors, and senior decision-makers to examine the forces shaping Indonesia’s tourism economy. The forum was co-organised by Horwath HTL alongside C9 Hotelworks, STR, QUO Global, Greenview, and Delivering Asia, in partnership with Langham Hospitality Group, and supported by the Jakarta Hotels Association, PHRI Indonesia, and the Bali Hotels Association. The event was oversubscribed weeks ahead of the forum date.
Matt Gebbie, Managing Director, Horwath HTL, and co-organiser of ITX 2026, said:
“We created ITX because we love Indonesian hospitality. Full stop. The talent, the ambition and the quality of what’s being built across this archipelago — it deserves its own stage. So we built one. Free, open, no hierarchy. A boutique owner from Solo sits alongside a developer from Jakarta, and everyone gets the same voice.”
The two-hour program covered the full breadth of Indonesia’s hospitality and tourism landscape, spanning investment climate and macroeconomic outlook, the evolution of luxury hospitality, hotel performance analytics, the rise of standalone branded residences, hospitality technology adoption, and Indonesian leadership legacy. Speakers represented a cross-section of the industry — global hotel brands, international data and analytics firms, Indonesian-owned operators, luxury residential developers, technology solution providers, political risk advisory, and destination marketing organisations — reflecting the forum’s deliberate intent to place both international perspective and local expertise on the same stage.
Shyn Yee Ho-Strangas, Director, Technology Practice, Horwath HTL, moderated the session Hospitality Tech 2026: What You Really Need To Know, which examined practical technology adoption across Indonesia’s hotel sector.
Shyn Yee Ho-Strangas, Director, Technology Practice, Horwath HTL, said:
“Indonesia’s hospitality industry is at a point where the technology conversation has to move from aspiration to execution. The question is no longer which tools exist — it is which investments translate into real operational performance and guest value at property level. That is what this session was designed to address.”
Horwath HTL has advised hotel owners, developers, and investors in Indonesia since 1998, with a Jakarta-based practice covering feasibility, operator selection, asset repositioning, and strategic advisory across the archipelago.
