Phil’s focus at Horwath HTL is on investor relations and hotel capital markets.

A fourth generation hotelier, Phil brings over 35 years of diverse experience to the hospitality industry. His roles span hotel operations, hospitality consulting, development, acquisitions, and asset management. Early in his career, he spent six years at Horwath’s Sydney office.


Bio

Phil co-founded and served as CEO of KFS Hotel Capital, a Singapore based hotel real estate private equity firm. Additionally, he held the position of managing director of Pro-invest Hotels Group.

His 14-year tenure with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG Hotels & Resorts) included hotel development roles in Sydney, followed by overseas postings in Dubai and Singapore as vice president of development where he led the signing of well over 100 hotel deals throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific region.

Before joining IHG Hotels & Resorts, Phil held previous roles with hotel brokers Knight Frank Expotel, Accor Asia Pacific, Horwath HTL and Arthur Andersen.

Phil holds a Master of Science in International Hospitality Management from the University of Derby (UK) and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

As a non-executive director, Phil sits on the board of Hotel Etico Australia, a not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to train individuals with disability, in a live-in hotel environment, enabling its graduates to transition to open employment in the hospitality industry and achieve greater independence.
