MR COVER US Lodging JAN 21

In the January 2021 edition of the Lodging Market Overview by Horwath HTL Atlanta, January’s performance showed a turn in trajectory as room night demand almost reached the same level as Nov ’20. Still, the US Lodging Market has yet to reach the high watermark set in Oct ’20, but healthy momentum in vaccinations across the country should help lodging demand.

The South Atlantic region hit a 42.7% occupancy, the highest amongst all measured regions, which is lifted by a strong contribution from the Transient and Group segments relative to peer regions. Likely, this is a result of the usual seasonality and travellers further escaping frigid weather from the northern states.
