US Lodging Market Update: Dec 2020

In the December edition of the Lodging Market Overview by Horwath HTL Atlanta, Weekly Room Night Demand brought demand levels back to June 2020 after continued declines starting in October.
The winter holidays brought on much more transient demand, which boosted the segment as there were far fewer holiday events to draw in group demand.
Total Traveler Throughput (TTT) provided by the TSA shows a ramp-up in travellers from December 6th through January 1st, which was expected due to the nature of the holidays.
Softened impacts to RevPAR in warmer states like Florida and California shows that some travellers were successfully escaping frigid weather to enjoy the holidays.
