Slovakia: Hotel Market & Covid-19 Impact

Horwath HTL Hungary, in cooperation with the Slovak Hotel Association and Ministry of Transport in Slovakia, provides a snapshot report based on an online sentiment survey conducted amongst hoteliers in February 2021.

The survey found that more than half of respondents suffered at least 40% loss in their revenue in 2020. Similarly to other countries in Europe, city hotels suffered a greater loss in terms of revenue than the resorts.

The long-term consequences of the crisis are yet to be seen; however, 45% of respondents expect the earliest to recover by 2023.
