Horwath HTL UK was engaged by a prominent European luxury hotel operator to guide the development of their group IT strategy. The objective was to create a comprehensive plan that aligned the operator’s technology infrastructure and capabilities with their business goals, operational needs, and the expectations of discerning guests in the luxury market.
The project commenced with a detailed evaluation of the hotel group’s existing IT systems, including property management systems (PMS), customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, and point-of-sale (POS) systems. This assessment identified strengths, inefficiencies, and opportunities for modernisation and integration across the portfolio.
A critical focus of the strategy was enhancing the guest experience through technology. Recommendations included the adoption of digital tools for personalised service delivery, seamless check-in and check-out processes, and in-room technology solutions that align with the luxury market’s expectations. The strategy also emphasised leveraging data analytics to better understand guest preferences and optimise marketing and operational decision-making.

Proposals were made to standardise and centralise IT systems, streamlining processes and improving communication across properties. Enhanced data security protocols were also recommended to protect sensitive guest and business information, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and reinforcing trust in the brand.
