Khang Nguyen Trieu, Travel and Hospitality Technology leader, joins Horwath HTL Pacific Asia; launches Technology Practice to drive digital and AI transformation for the hotels and tourism sector in Asia.
December 2025 – Horwath HTL Pacific Asia announced today that Khang Nguyen Trieu has joined the firm as a Director, based in the Singapore office. Khang will spearhead the launch of the Technology Practice, strengthening Horwath HTL’s advisory offerings by focusing on digital and AI transformation for the Hotels and Tourism sector across Asia.
Khang brings 27 years of international experience in travel and hospitality technology, digital – AI transformation and leadership. Formerly Chief Information Officer Asia Pacific and Group Chief Technology Architect at Accor, he led multi-country transformation programs across central platforms and hotel systems, delivering operational and digital improvements for properties of all sizes. Khang previously held senior leadership roles at Voyages-SNCF.com, then Europe’s largest online travel agency in partnership with Expedia, where he led B2B and B2C platform development and contributed to the company’s agile transformation.
“In the hotels and tourism sector, many owners, GMs and corporate leaders feel overwhelmed by the pace of technological innovation on one hand, and uncertain about how to translate it into concrete value on the other,” said Khang. “Our goal is to guide and support clients as they navigate this rapidly evolving landscape. Many hotels, whether 100 or 1,000 rooms, operate like SMEs due to the industry’s asset-light model. They cannot justify full-time technology leadership at the property level, yet the need for it has never been greater. This is where we come in.”
Shyn Yee Ho-Strangas, Director of Horwath HTL, added: “We are very excited to welcome Khang to our team to build and grow our Technology Practice. We are seeing increasing demand from hotel and tourism product owners and operators seeking to better leverage technology and automation to improve asset performance. The launch of our Technology Practice strengthens the end-to-end advisory expertise that Horwath HTL is known for: from development feasibility, operator selection and hotel management agreement negotiations, to asset management, performance improvement and repositioning. In an AI-accelerated future, technology considerations must be embedded into every aspect of development, operations and investment.”
With the vision of becoming the most impactful hospitality and tourism technology advisory practice in Asia Pacific, the Technology Practice will help clients transform hotel and tourism operations through digital and AI adoption. The practice will focus on leveraging AI and technologies that improve EBITDA performance, streamline operations, enhance workforce capability through upskilling and job redesign, and elevate both guest and employee experience, contributing also to make the hospitality and tourism industry attractive again as an employer.
Scope of services includes:
- Audit and assessment
- Technology recommendation
- Digital and AI transformation roadmaps
- Vendor evaluation and selection
- Project management and change management to ensure adoption and sustained results
Through deployment of the right technology and AI enablement, Horwath HTL Pacific Asia aims to support owners, operators and investors in delivering world-class traveller and guest experiences while optimising asset performance in a rapidly evolving hospitality and tourism landscape.
