Martim Duarte is Head of Production at Horwath HTL Portugal, with extensive experience leading the end-to-end delivery of tourism, leisure and hospitality projects. His work is defined by a strong focus on sustainability, regeneration and place-based development, combining strategic insight with operational rigour to support resilient and competitive destinations.


In his role as Head of Production, Martim leads the integrated delivery of projects from strategic research and market intelligence through to concept development, feasibility analysis and implementation. He works closely with investors, developers, operators and public-sector stakeholders to ensure that each initiative responds to market realities while aligning with sustainability objectives and the distinct character of its location. Through the coordination of multidisciplinary teams of consultants, planners and analysts, he oversees complex project processes across all stages of the lifecycle, ensuring consistency, quality and effective execution.

His approach is grounded in ecosystem-led and place-based thinking, guided by ESG principles and international best practice. Martim champions strategies that promote inclusive growth, strengthen local networks and activate the natural and cultural assets of destinations. His work consistently seeks to balance economic viability with environmental responsibility and social value, supporting long-term competitiveness and authentic destination identity.

Martim holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, a background that underpins his analytical perspective and informs his commitment to sustainable and regenerative development approaches.
