As a consultant, Mr. Drouin has extensive experience in several operational positions within the hotel industry, allowing him to be a problem solver.
Additionally, he often invited to collaborate with several speakers on a national and international level, particularly in the preparation of students for international competitions, panel discussions and research with other schools, as well as international hotel companies such as Relais & Château.
Mr. Drouin began his career with several well-known establishments in Montréal, including Restaurant Toqué! And Hôtel St-James, rising through the ranks prior to his joining Horwath HTL. Mr. Drouin has also worked internationally in France and Ireland, during his studies.
Prior to becoming a professor at Vatel Québec and then at ITHQ, Mr. Drouin worked within several hospitality related fields, including tourist camps, restaurant management and consulting, and as a business process analyst.
His strong experience at an operational level, combined with his academic background, ensures that he is a consultant capable of providing clients with realistic solutions.
Industry Involvement
As a professor of hotel management over the past few years, Mr. Drouin has developed a wide network of connections that are well established within the industry, as well as with up-and-coming professionals in the hotel, tourism and restaurant sectors. In particular, he has established a sponsorship program to enable students and graduates in the hotel industry to exchange ideas. He is also one of the editors of the book Histoires d'hôtels et autres lieux, which pays tribute to hospitality professionals through short stories.
