Scott Knepp is thrilled to join the Atlanta Horwath HTL team as a Management Analyst after serving in a wide array of leadership positions in the hospitality industry for over a decade. He is passionate about all things hospitality, ranging from strategy and budget management to staff engagement and management coaching. His passion comes from a desire to understand, create, and support experiences that allow others to feel connected, cared for, appreciated, and fulfilled. With his operational experience and educational background, Scott has a deep understanding of how the numbers on a spreadsheet translate to the experience of an organization's leaders, employees, and guests.

Prior to joining Horwath HTL, Scott led teams and operations across an array of service industries, including hotels and resorts, healthcare, country clubs, cruise ships, and wellness retreat centers. He has held leadership positions with Courtyard by Marriott in Valdosta, GA, the platinum-level Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, VA, VCU Health System in Richmond, VA, Carnival Cruise Lines, and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA. Scott has extensive experience with the development, deployment, and training of service models and service cultures, stakeholder satisfaction surveying, budget development and management, PMS change management and training, employee relations and coaching, conflict resolution, human resources (including OSHA and ADA issues), and strategic planning. During his time with the VCU Health System, Scott was responsible for overseeing the system's partnership with Disney Institute consultants to design and launch a new service culture. He has developed award-winning programming for Farmington Country Club and led award-winning teams at Courtyard by Marriott.

Scott is a native of Albany, Georgia. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Berry College in Rome, GA and his Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. While attending graduate school, he had the pleasure of working on scholarly journals and research grants, and was selected as a presenter at the 13th Annual International Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism. He also completed a lodging internship with Walt Disney World Resorts and remained with Disney as a front desk agent at their four-diamond Contemporary Resort. Scott enjoys public speaking, particularly on the topics of service culture, emotional intelligence, and leadership.
