Piero Coretti has graduated in Political Sciences at the University “La Sapienza” (Rome). From 1973 to 1976 Piero was Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Business at the University of Perugia and from 2002 to 2006 “Subject Expert” for the chair of Marketing and Tourism Marketing at the Department of Communication Sciences at the University “La Sapienza” (Rome). He wrote several essays for the Collection of Studies and Research on tourism, published by Franco Angeli; he projected, directed and created the “Merkator” software for determining strategic marketing plans for local tourism development by market segments. He coordinated the establishment of the “Observatory on tourist consumption in Italy”, as well as the implementation of computerized systems for the evaluation of hotels. He started his professional career as Coordinator of the “Programming Technical Secretariat” of ENIT (Italian National Agency for Tourism) for seven years and, at the same time, he coordinated different tourism development plans at a regional level (Puglia, Marche, Molise, Lazio) constantly supporting the activities of some of these regions for more than 15 years. He has a broad experience in the field of Territory Tourism Marketing (development of provincial and municipal tourism plans) and in the field of studies and research on tourism. He developed several projects on costs-profits and feasibility studies for both accommodation facilities and marinas and, for the latter, he carried out some Due Diligence investigations. Piero is currently Director of the Studies and Research Department of Horwath HTL in Italy.
