Michel joins Horwath HTL Mexico, after a brilliant career of nearly 30 years in hospitality at Grupo Posadas, Mexico's leading regional hotel company, where he performed both as VP of Operations and Corporate VP of Development, where he participated in signing over 100 new hotel projects, and the opening of over 50 new hotels, not only in Mexico, but also in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.
Michel oversaw developing and maintaining the relationship with hotel owners, by overseeing that the hotels were developed according to plan and opened and operated to meet their financial objectives. Michel had a crucial participation in Grupo Posadas ‘growth from 25 hotels to 185 hotels. Having a marketing background, a Harvard MBA degree with emphasis in finance, and the project development and operations experience makes Michel a great resource to support any hospitality related project, in any phase of its life cycle, from conception to brand and operator selection, to successfully overseeing the performance of existing properties to ensure they maximize their profitability.
Michel will service the Mexican, Central America and Caribbean markets and will work closely with his longtime colleague, Fabian Sánchez based in Mexico City.
