Mark Newton specializes in food and beverage, executive development, feasibility, market and impact studies, as well as asset management assignments. Mark has been speaking, consulting and leading in the industry for years under the banner of ‘Newton’s LAW’ (Learning, Achieving & Winning.)
Prior to Horwath HTL, Mark served as the Director of the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Program at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He now teaches Marketing classes at Piedmont College and three online classes at Georgia State in the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality.
Mark is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and has worked over twenty years in various upper-level management jobs in the hospitality industry. Dr. Newton returned to school and earned his Masters and Doctoral Degrees from the University of Georgia.
Mark is active in the community serving as a board member of Explore Gwinnett, a Sunday School teacher at Big Canoe Chapel. Mark is happily married to his wife Susan of 36 years, a father of two adult children and grandfather to his five grandchildren.
