Carlos Maldonado is an expert in hospitality consulting services from operation analysis to standardization programs, strategic planning, executive selecting and overviewing of the entire process of sale and acquisition of hotel properties. Carlos' expertise is backed by a career in the Hospitality Industry of over three decades, throughout which he has held a variety of positions at management and corporate levels in Mexico and the United States.

Among his most notable achievements are successful turnarounds of struggling properties into highly profitable and highly rated businesses, such as: Marriott Tijuana, Continental Plaza Kona Kai in San Diego, San Felipe Marina Resort & Spa Baja California, Grand Hotel Tijuana, Holiday Inn Merida, Fiesta Inn Morelia, among others. Carlos was also Director of Regional Operations for Grupo SITUR in which he oversaw the operations of 9 hotels and 8 hotel managers. His success in this position ensured that profit estimates were surpassed by a margin of 18% for two consecutive years.

Carlos has been a member of international tourism organizations such as Club Skål Tijuana-Ensenada since 1995, for which he also served as Committee Secretary in 1998. In 1995, Carlos was also the founding president of Northwestern Hotels Association (ASHONO).

Carlos has a bachelor’s degree as Industrial Engineer by Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey (1980-1984), a Marketing Tourism Certification by Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (1993) and a General Manager Certification for IHG by Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey (2004).
