Deike Freytag Schmuser is the Horwath HTL Costa Rica Country Manager, and is based in Costa Rica.
With more than a decade of experience within the Crowe and Horwath HTL network, Deike brings deep regional knowledge and a broad multi-sector background to hospitality, tourism, and real estate advisory assignments across Costa Rica and Central America.
Deike delivers market and financial feasibility studies, investment analyses, and strategic advisory services for hospitality, tourism, and mixed-use developments. Her experience includes resort, wellness, eco-tourism, and destination-led projects, where local market insight and sound financial judgment are essential to investment decision-making.
Beyond hospitality and real estate, Deike has extensive experience across the financial, commercial, industrial, and services sectors. She has worked on governance-related reviews, quality assurance processes, and consulting engagements for a wide range of organizations, strengthening her ability to evaluate projects from both an investor and institutional perspective.
Deike is also at the forefront of Crowe Costa Rica’s financial sustainability services, contributing to advisory work at the intersection of financial performance, governance, and long-term value creation.
She is fluent in English, Spanish, and German, enabling her to work seamlessly with international clients and cross-border project teams.
Deike holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Universidad Interamericana and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Project Management at Universidad Latina. Her academic background in international relations further supports her work in complex, international advisory environments.
