Office: Horwath HTL France
Project Overview: Horwath HTL France has helped the French public investment group, Bpifrance, in the definition of a market entry strategy and in the structuring of the new “France Investissement Tourisme” fund. The fund is a channel for Bpifrance’s to broaden its exposure in a sector generating employment that has cross border and international potential.
Scope of Project: Strategic landscape of innovation in HTL sectors: tourist accommodations (hotels, hostels, camping, lodges…), catering, MICE and event facilities, theme parks, distribution and e-tourism (with a focus on operators and subcontractors). Definition of a marketing and brand positioning for the fund (vision, statement, values, key expertise, identity). Deal-flow estimation. Assistance in the fund launching.
Implementation: Operational since October 8th 2015, with a 100 M€ total budget and a 50 M€ first stage budget, the fund’s mission is to invest as a minority shareholder 0,5 M€ to 5 M€ amounts in equity or quasi equity in tourism and leisure firms. In a second phase, it will then be open to third party subscribers, especially to tourism and leisure professionals wishing to actively participate in the field’s evolution. The 1st investment has been realized on the behalf of a newly created hostels management private company, France Hostels, aiming at developing 10 properties in the next 3 years.
